Adoption

If you would like to continue with an application for adoption, please tell us about yourself and how you qualify as a responsible pet owner. As we get to know you, we invite you to get to know us by joining our
Royal Mountain Kennel Family Facebook Group
Bernese Mountain dogs are known as gentle giants and make wonderful family pets. However, they can drool and shed quite a bit. Raising a puppy can be challenging. Please research the breed to ensure they are a good fit for your family.

As a responsible breeder, our goal is to produce well-bred and well-raised pups. But perhaps more importantly, we aim to ensure our puppies are adopted by loving, forever homes. Please make sure you are ready and committed before considering adopting.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF BEFORE ADOPTING:

- Does my schedule allow me to care for a puppy?
- Am I prepared to put in the time to exercise a puppy?
- Do I have the patience & willingness to train a puppy?

- How will I handle unwanted behaviours such as barking, nipping, chewing, jumping, potty accidents?
- How will my family/small children/pets adjust to puppy?

- Where will a puppy be kept when alone/unsupervised?
- Do I have a puppy sitter if I need to leave town?
- Does my budget allow me to ensure a puppy's needs, including obedience class or emergency veterinary care?
- Can I provide a stable and safe home/yard for a puppy?
- Does my local veterinarian accept new clients?
-
Am I prepared to make a lifelong commitment?

If you get a puppy from a responsible breeder, know that they have trusted you with a piece of their legacy, heart and hard work. It's important to note that planning healthy litters involves a lot of time, effort, care, research, preparation, and a significant financial investment. When you choose to get a puppy from an ethical breeder, you are investing in all the work and research that goes into producing a healthy, well-bred and well-raised puppy.

Adoption Cost

Adoption cost is $2800 + tax. To secure your pick ranking on the waitlist, a non-refundable $300 deposit is required. Payments can be made by e-transfer/cash.

Our puppies are CKC registered. Before going to their forever home, each puppy will be well loved, socialized, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. They will receive a care package that includes a personalized gift, favourite toy, dog food, and a free 30 day pet insurance policy with Trupanion.

Non-Breeding Contract

All our dogs are sold with a Non-Breeding Contract. As a responsible breeder, we want to ensure our dogs will be used solely as companion pets and placed in loving homes.

Furthermore, when confirmation of spay or neuter is provided, we commit to making a $50 donation to the animal shelter of your choice. This is our way of contributing to the health and well being of the pet population as all dogs, no matter the breed, deserve forever loving homes.
